Furnace repair in Houston
When the furnace runs but the house stays cold, or it will not start at all, a licensed technician finds the cause before anything is replaced.
What the diagnosis usually looks at
Most furnace failures come from a short list of parts. The visit works through them in order, so the repair addresses the fault rather than the symptom.
- Ignition: the igniter or pilot assembly and the flame sensor that confirms the burners lit.
- Safety controls: the high-limit switch, the pressure switch and the rollout switches that shut the burners off on purpose.
- Airflow: the blower motor and its capacitor, the filter, and any closed or blocked returns.
- Controls: the thermostat, its wiring and the control board that sequences each heating cycle.
- Venting: the flue and, on high-efficiency furnaces, the condensate drain.
Repair or replace
A furnace is usually worth repairing when the fault is a single part on a system in sound condition. Replacement becomes the conversation when the heat exchanger is damaged, when the same system keeps failing, or when parts for an older unit are no longer practical.
RF Specialist provides heating repair, replacement and installation for homes and businesses. Premium maintenance plan members get 10% off full system replacements.
If you smell gas
Do not look for the source and do not switch lights or appliances on or off. Leave the house first, then call 911 or your gas company from outside. The same applies when a carbon monoxide alarm sounds. Call a technician once the house has been made safe.
The estimate is free
A technician comes out, looks at the equipment, and tells you what it needs and what it costs — at no charge. Go ahead with the service and there is nothing to pay for the visit. The visit fee applies only if you decide not to.
- $65
- if you do not go ahead, before 7 PM
- $125
- if you do not go ahead, from 7 PM
Repair work is priced separately, based on what the equipment needs.
